Tyler was born and raised in Northern California, where he began his color guard career. Tyler has performed with Leigh High School, The Sacramento Mandarins, SCV, and toured for multiple years as the lead performer with the broadway show, Blast!
Tyler has a long history with the Santa Clara Vanguard, beginning with two summers in the A corps (2006-2007), four years performing with the SCV Winter Guard (2008-2011), two years teaching the winter guard (2013-2014), and has now been on the instruction and design staff of both Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets since 2019.
Currently, Tyler lives in Indianapolis, where he is the color guard director at Center Grove High School. He also is beginning his 6th year with both Pride of Cincinnati and Carmel High School.
