David Cavazos is currently a student at the University of North Texas where he is finishing out a degree in music performance. During his time at UNT, he has performed in a variety of classical and world percussion ensembles and served as the principal percussionist of the UNT Symphony Orchestra for two years.
David’s drum corps experience consisted of one year with The Casper Troopers in 2015 and two years with The Santa Clara Vanguard, where he helped win the Fred Sanford high percussion award in 2016 and 2017, as part of the snare line.
He currently works in the North Texas area where he has taught percussion at a number of schools including Byron Nelson High School and Coppell High School, where he is a Snare/Battery technician and private lesson instructor. He also has performed with such ensembles as the Dallas Maverick’s Drumline and the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra.
