Santiago Aguilar is an active marching arts instructor and choreographer in the Austin-San Antonio area. He first entered the drum corps scene during his junior year at James Bowie High School in (Austin, TX) and spent 6 years as a World Class performer with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2016-2018) and Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (2019-2021). During this time, Santiago served as the Baritone/Euphonium section leader for Crossmen brass (2018) and was a member of the leadership team for CrownBRASS (2021). In addition, Santiago has performed in the WGI circuit as a cymbal performer with Violet Crown Independent (2018) and a baritone with Crossmen Winds (2019). Santiago is the Visual Coordinator for the Tom C. Clark Marching Band in addition to being a member of the instructional staff at Vandegrift High School Marching Band (Austin, TX) and Rhythmic Force Indoor Percussion.
Santiago resides in San Antonio, TX where he is an active researcher in the field of microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics. He obtained his Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology with a Chemistry minor from Texas State University and is set to graduate this upcoming May (2024) from the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio with a Master’s of Science in Immunology and Infection with a focus on post-transcriptional research of fungal organism, Candida albicans.
