Julie Bierschenk

Julie has been a Chicago resident for over a decade, where she has worked as a graphic designer and art director in a variety of industries. Her drum corps career started at the Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, marching mellophone in 2004 and 2005. Julie continued her marching career from 2006—2010 at The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, serving as the horn sergeant in 2010 and mellophone soloist for several years.

Julie has gone on to work with various high schools both on and off the field, most recently at Victor J Andrew High School in Tinley Park, IL as a visual instructor from 2018—2020. She has also been on the visual design team at Burlington High School in Burlington, MA since 2015. In addition, Julie works with various indoor percussion ensembles and color guards with floor and set design, combining her training as an artist and designer with her passion for the marching arts. In 2021 and 2022, she taught on the visual staff at the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Julie is thrilled to be joining the 2023 visual team at Santa Clara Vanguard!
