Currently in her seventh year of teaching, Emmy serves as the Assistant Director of Bands at Dawson High School in Pearland, Texas. During the fall season, Emmy leads the visual program for the Dawson Eagle Marching Band. The Dawson Eagle Band is a Bands of America finalist group and has qualified for the State Marching Band Contest both years Emmy has taught there. Emmy also directs the Symphonic Band and assists with the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, and the Cadet Band. During her time at Dawson, the concert Ensembles have consistently received Superior Ratings at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading. In addition, the Symphonic Band was recognized as a Citation of Excellence Winner by the Foundation for Music Education.
Emmy previously taught at Clear Springs High School and Bonnette Junior High School, both in the Houston area. An advocate for the marching arts, Emmy is an alumna of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, and has taught Spirit of Atlanta, Genesis, and the Oregon Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Emmy holds a Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of the trumpet studio. She graduated in the spring of 2017 before relocating to Houston, Texas.
