Sam Mohler began his marching arts career at Parkway South High School in Manchester, MO where he most recently served as the Assistant Director of the Marching Band in 2023. He continued to pursue his love for the activity after high school with the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps, performing as a conductor in 2016 and on trumpet in 2017. After aging out from the Colts, Sam was a member of the University of Missouri’s Ionic Independent Winter Guard.
In 2023, Sam spent the winter season as the photographer, videographer, and social media coordinator for Ionic Independent where he grew their online presence exponentially. This led to a position with the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, where he served as their lead photographer and assisted with all aspects of multimedia production, which included producing daily content for the corps Tiktok account. During his time with the Blue Knights, he was the recipient of the Marching Arts Media Rookie of the Year Award.
Currently, Sam is a member of the media team for the St. Louis-based La Voûte Performance Ensemble, an independent winterguard that broke into open class finals during the 2023 winter season.
Aside from teaching at Parkway South High School, Sam spent 4 years as the Director of Bands for the Renick School District in Renick, MO. He has additionally worked with Lindbergh High School in St. Louis, MO, and Battle High School in Columbia, MO.
