Your audition information documents can be found in the details of each audition event.

We are currently auditioning drum majors for SCV 2025. We require all aspiring drum majors submit a video of their conducting as well as a cover letter and resumé showcasing their leadership experience. Previous drum corps experience is preferred but not required.

Your audition experience will vary depending on the event you attend. Each section does their audition process differently but everyone at the audition will have a chance to perform for our staff.  Prospective members will be notified of their status the week after the event’s conclusion.  

Musicians and drum majors who are invited will be asked to attend our mandatory “Call Back Camp” in Dallas, Texas in December.

Color guard auditionees who advance will be asked to attend our mandatory “Call Back Camp” in San Jose in April.

Here is a list of what to bring to audition camps.

At the conclusion of your audition, there are three possible outcomes: a contract, a callback, or an opportunity to try again next year if you are eligible. Callback Camp for musicians will be December 13-15, 2024 in Dallas, TX. This camp is required for all musicians offered a callback either at an in-person event or from a virtual audition. Musicians offered a contract prior to this date will also be required attend this camp.

Color guard prospective members on a callback or contract status will complete their audition at our April Rehearsal Camp April 25-27, 2025 in San Jose, CA.

Tuition costs will be announced in early October. In 2024, our member summer tour tuition was $5,300.

You’ll pay your tuition in multiple installments beginning in January 2025.  Multiple scholarship opportunities will be available for all participants. SCV offers returning member discounts and sibling discounts. 

Musicians will also have rehearsal camp fees for the Spring rehearsal camps as follows:

• January, February, March, and April Rehearsal Camps: $200 total

You will be required to complete online assignments and training assigned from December (Callbacks) to May (Pre Tour). Rehearsal camps are required for all musicians and drum majors. If you are unable to attend a rehearsal camp you must notify corps management and caption managers upon receiving your contract.

• April: Full Corps/Color Guard Callbacks – San Jose, CA

In late May, all members will join SCV full time to rehearse at our Pre-Tour location at the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID.  Percussion members will have an additional week-long camp in mid-late May in Dallas, TX prior to the full corps moving in. You will be rehearsing, living, and performing with the corps for approximately 3 months, ending with DCI Finals in Indianapolis, IN August 9th.

To audition for SCV, you must be 15 years of age or older or at least a sophomore in high school. In order to be part of SCV this summer, we require that you be at least 18 years old by June 1, 2025 and at most 21 years old before June 1, 2025. be eligible to participate in Drum Corps International competition this summer (see: turning age 22 on June 1, 2025 or later). Rare exceptions can be made for participants under the age of 18.
