Abby MacLeay

Abby MacLeay has many years of color guard experience as both a performer and educator. She was born and raised in South Florida, where her color guard career began. She has performed with G. Holmes Braddock High School, Braddock Independent, The Magic of Orlando, and The Cadets.

Professionally, Abby began teaching the visual program at John A. Ferguson High School in 2006 and the movement program at Cypress Bay High School in 2011. She kept both positions until 2013 when she moved to Massachusetts. She was an instructor with the Cadets color guard from 2014 to 2019, and a movement choreographer for The Spartans color guard 2014 – 2016, and again in 2024. She has also worked with groups including Alter Ego (IW), St. Brendan’s (IO), and Summerville High School.

Currently, she is starting her 10th year with the Billerica Memorial High School winter guard as a choreographer and instructor. Abby holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Salem State University in Elementary Education and works as a People Operations Manager at Crayon, Inc. She is excited to be back with Vanguard for her second summer!
