Hector Garcia was born and raised in San Diego, California, and graduated from Rancho Buena Vista High School. His drum corps journey began with the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2013, where he marched for two seasons before joining the Blue Devils in 2015. Hector’s winterguard experience includes performing with Santa Clara Vanguard Winter Guard (2014-2016), Bluecoats Indoor (2018), and Origins Winterguard (2019). In 2017, he performed with Blast! The Music of Disney.
As an educator, Hector has contributed to the success of numerous programs, including Mt. Carmel High School, Northview High School, James Bowie High School, Leander High School, and Vandegrift High School. Since 2018, he has taught as a technician and choreographer for the Santa Clara Vanguard. In San Diego, Hector works full-time in healthcare at UCSD, focusing on underrepresented communities, while pursuing his pre-medicine studies.
