Janice Griffin Taylor is a dedicated Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), with over 17 years of experience across various acute care settings, including Orthopedics, Oncology, Telemetry, and Medical Surgical units. Currently, she serves as a valuable asset to a national insurance company in a full-time capacity.
Residing in Weymouth, Massachusetts, just south of Boston, Janice has enjoyed a fulfilling marriage of 37 years and takes pride in raising two wonderful children.
Janice has a rich background in drum corps and winter guard. Her experience includes involvement with the Plymouth County Defenders, The 27th Lancers, and Emerald Marquis, accumulating over 15 years of marching and teaching experience. She is also an alumna of the Santa Clara Vanguard, having marched in 1983 and later becoming a member of the 2017 SCV alumni corps.
Janice remains deeply connected to the Vanguard community. She dedicates her time to volunteer initiatives, serving as medical support staff during SCV tours in 2012 and 2015, and supporting the Wellness team in a “virtual” on-call role from 2012 to 2022. Additionally, she actively contributes to the Vanguard Alumni and Members Performing Arts (VAMPA) Historical Society, aiding in the preservation of the organization’s rich heritage through the Decades Project.
Locally, Janice is a valued member of Mass Responds, where she serves as an emergency response nurse. In 2020, amidst the global pandemic, she administered Covid-19 vaccines and tests, showcasing her unwavering dedication to public health and safety. As an Air Force Veteran, Janice finds fulfillment in volunteering with local Veterans organizations and the USO, providing support to service members and their families in the Boston area.
Looking ahead, Janice is eager to continue her journey with the Vanguard Organization as a member of the Wellness team, anticipating the opportunity to support members and staff on their transformative VAMPA 2024 adventure.
