Sally became involved as a volunteer in 1978 when her oldest daughter first joined the color guard. From that moment on – there was no stopping her. Throughout the 1980’s Sally was instrumental in upholding the iconic look of SCV. From sewing flags and tunics to washing uniforms, and even helping orchestrate the “Pants Changing Tunnel” of 1985 and 1986. Sally was there for it all. But it didn’t stop with uniforms. She also sewed countless sets of flags, cooked on Miss Amana, and helped run souvies. Throughout her time with Vanguard, Sally was a mentor, mother and volunteer who left an incredible impression on the hearts of so many.
