VMAPA Receives Generous Donation from Rudolph & Sletten

In a ceremony held on January 9, 2018, Rudolph & Sletten employees generously presented a check for $4,744 to Vanguard Music and Performing Arts through the company’s Leo Jansing Fund!

Named in memory of the man who served as the company’s Vice President and Chief Estimator for many years, the Leo Jansing Fund exists to support one or more community non-profit organizations in each of their regional offices. Christina Mavroudis, a Rudolph & Sletten employee who’s daughter marched 8 years in the Vanguard organization, was thoughtful enough to nominate Vanguard Music and Performing Arts.

“In November, employees received an invitation to nominate our favorite non-profit charity for the Leo Jansing Charity Fund. I had just one day to put all the pieces together for nominating Vanguard, but the organization is dear to my heart,” said Mavroudis. “Come to find out, there were several connections with R&S and Vanguard. One of the ladies on the committee had a brother who marched, and the father of Annette Navarro (SCV Alum and VMAPA Business Operations Manager) actually worked for the company!  It was a good fit all around.”

As the Valley’s go-to general contractor for more than fifty years,Rudolph & Sletten is often known as “the contractor that built Silicon Valley” and we admire their commitment to local non-profit organizations, having donated over $1.5 Million throughout the years. We cannot thank Mavroudis or Rudolph & Sletten enough for making this donation possible!

Funds received will go directly toward benefiting the 2017-2018 “Building Our Future” Capital Campaign which is collecting money to remodel the Vanguard Music Room and build a brand new Miss Amana mobile kitchen truck for the 2019 season. Every contribution, regardless of size, is greatly appreciated and will help us on our journey.
